Noelene Hammond moved to Gravelly Beach, Tasmania, in 2011. She enjoyed the way that the community welcomes designers and creative handicrafters from everywhere.
On her property she has set up a working Studio with a breath-taking view that inspires her to create.
1. MACHINE-sewn scarves using a wide variety of colours, textures and embellishments, which would suit any attire.
2. KNITTING with wire and using glass beads to create a variety of styles and combinations, with added adornments. Designing necklaces and bracelets. This style creates its own one-off design.
Many of her creations can be found and admired in art galleries throughout Victoria and Tasmania. Her signature is a button sewn onto the scarf. She has always enjoyed knitting & working with a variety of coloured textiles, and considers herself lucky having the opportunity to design using new techniques.
For over 25 years she has made and sold babywear & toys for leukaemia research at Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne in which she has the honour of being a “Living Treasure”.
Creating is a very strong passion of Noelene’s and she enjoys passing on her skills, teaching other interested people.
